I agree with what the others have said - I'm generally not a "let's save the most effective drug for the last resort" sort of person. If it's known to work, and it's only going to be a short-term thing, and it's just going to make her a little dopey for awhile, why not try it instead of putting her through medication after medication and hoping one of them *might* work.
