You can't betray your type. How guffy. Plus you don't know until you try it. You might also have what it takes to be a whippin good benevolent lawyer. :) Don't totally abandon your first love. I know reality has set in, but you still might be able to do great things for the unfortunate children of this world. Around here there are organizations that work with underprivaledged children in poor neighborhoods, that are always in need of volunteers to come in and be mentors to their attention starved clients.
One of my nephews is attending lawschool now. I hope you are up for a big challenge. You might want to postpone that desire to have a few kids for a couple of years or so, but it might be a tad impractical to wait for 20. As for concluding that people never change, I wouldn't write them off just yet. It has happened too often. They usually don't succeed in changing themselves, but Jesus is in the people changing business. It's not impossible. I pray that God will keep you where you need to be, inspite of yourself. Will
