I just had the nicest client in my office. He was formerly an attorney in Columbia, but because of the politics and danger moved here. Now he details cars and brings home less than $1500/mth - but he *loves* the USA. He refused foodstamps (although he would have qualified) - stating he only wanted help with medicaid for his children.

We got to talking... I guess the fact that we have the same car of the same year started it. My car has so many problems, not least of which is the fact that the "Check Engine" light is ALWAYS on! He said his is the same way, but not to worry about it - his brother is a mechanic and told him it's a faulty sensor, nothing to do with the engine.

Then we began talking about his son. The child is so gifted, it's unbelievable. He told me about DaVinci, Beethoven, Michaelangelo, Armstrong, the first people who flew an airplane, the inventor of movies, Thomas Edison, the person who liberated three South American countries, Abraham Lincoln (to name only a few). He added, he subtracted, he counted, he's bi-lingual.

The child is four.

His father's love for him was so evident, too. "I don't tell him to learn. We would never want to push him. He is always asking questions. He wants to know more and more about everything! My wife and I are so worried - what if he's too advanced for kindergarten???"  His face lit up. "Tell her about... the first President of the United States!"

I introduced him to various gifted sites online and some gifted books. I also wound up giving him my e-mail address and my home number. I told him to call me if he had any questions or needed book recommendations. I wish him all the good luck in the world.
