Sophie Pics
Apr. 8th, 2007 03:05 pmHappy Easter/Passover!
Took some Sophie pics today. Only two really turned out, but I do like them. One of my lights is out of commission (err, disappeared) so there's really too much shadow in the others. Ah well, good practice, right? :)
In other news, this morning I decided to take a nap on the patio swing while the girls played their very favorite game: preen mommy. Athie stood on the upper side of my head, one foot firmly lodged just behind my ear. Sophie stood on my face, one foot just below my eye, and the other planted on my temple. They first made sure my ear was thoroughly clean, and were disappointed when it was. Then they moved to other facial orifices: nose, mouth. Declining such intimate cleaning, I covered them with my hands instead.
Then the girls digressed to a game of Preen Each Other While Sitting on Mommy's Head. I hesitated as I opened an eye, to see Soph's feathered tummy directly over said eye. Finally they got tired of that. Athie climbed up to the back of the swing and began cooing "Good girl! Good girl! *whistle!*" Sophie snuck under the covers for some cuddlin' and a nap.
Apparently the girls are quite the hit in the neighborhood, btw. Yesterday as I sat at my desk, which now looks out onto the patio, a little girl snuck into the hibiscus in front of the villa to watch them. Another neighbor and her husband, whenever they take their dog out, stop by to whistle and say "hello! pretty bird!" to them. And this morning while napping a neighbor, who has friends visiting said, "If you look over there you can see the cockatiel and another grey bird!"
Cockatoo, lady. CockaTOO. ;)
Then they saw the "sleeping" human on the swing and hurried past. LOL.
