The two questions of the morning are:

1) How much Peach Chardonnay can I drink without getting drunk?

2) Where'd [profile] xeriah go last night? And what happened while she was gone????

There are three rings on my hands. They are all extremely valuable, indeed priceless, to me, yet two I will always cherish and hope to be buried with.

1) My wedding ring. Of course the engagement ring is nice and important, but it's the wedding ring that says I'm stuck for life. I'm pretty happy with that. While the engagement ring, again, is a given, and there's not a lot of variety to choose from, I was with James as he studied and studied each wedding ring... looking for the perfect one. He found it, and it means more than the world to me.

2) The ring that Zack gave me. When my littlest brother was seven or eight he saved up his money and bought me a gold ring with a gold heart in the center and a diamond inside of that. It was fairly expensive for an eight year old. :-) I don't think many could ever realize the value of a younger brother's love bound up in a simple ring, given from the heart. I think I shall call him today and tell him how much his ring means to me.

Here's a pic of what Zack's looks like - somewhat. It's a little different, but not too much. And then the one that James got me.

I'm a lucky gal to have two guys who love me. A brother and a husband...

Now, back to my brief!

I love Alexandar Pope. He is my all-time favorite author. When I was in my teens and early 20s and lived at home, amidst all the chaos I would read his poems aloud to myself, spending hours dwelling on them. They were a comfort to me - knowing that somehow there was Order to everything in my life. I've probably read his entire Essay on Man (literally dozens of pages long - and if you think that's short try reading a page!!!) over 30 times. I love reading his first and second essays the best. Here are some excerpts from Pope's Essay on Man.

What I'm going to do is break this into parts, b/c otherwise it will appear fairly long. Skim over what looks interesting. I think the excerpts I will draw primarily from his first two Epistles.

I should add that one very amazing point, to me, about Little Alex is that, as discussed in his background, he suffered from a disease called Pott's disease which ruined his health, stunted his growth, and made him an abhorrance to even *look at*. In a day when individuals strutted like beautiful peacocks, he was disfigured, twisted, and ghastly. Yet, in spite of it all, he concludes his first Epistle with and unquestioning conviction: "Whatever Is, is Right."

There's so much more, but in the interest of time I shall cut it short(!). I love Alexandar Pope...
