Apr. 18th, 2005 10:40 pmThe rays of dawn begin the day
and in my garden flowers gay
array themselves in fresh display
a lavish performance--nature's play
a bouquet fair of sweet delight
woven 'midst greens of gorgeous site
alight their faces toward the light,
toward the sky begin their plight.
At noon the sun is full and fair
the petals thick in crisp blue air
a prayer they echo in Sun's care
to bless the day and hold them dear.
The Sun begins his journey low
the flowers, too, begin to go --
tomorrow's promise they bestow
and then flow back to earth below.
A parting wish and then adieu
they pass on all with fading hue
"Renew once more and then be true
to seek the blue sky and pursue."
