Newsflash:

All cupcakes, everywhere, especially if they have OMG STRAWBERRY ICING belong to one, Sophia, a goffins cockatoo residing at 123 Cupcake Bliss Ave.

Last night I made cupcakes. One fell on the ground, and being the fastidious mommy I am, I let Soph have a little bite. Oooh, bad bad bad. She's *obsessed* with strawberry icing-covered cupcakes. Her little body squirmed last night as we passed the kitchen, trying to get a better view of the stove where there might be OMG CUPCAKES WITH STRAWBERRY ICING. She began grinding her beak in anticipation and delight. As we passed the kitchen, she realized the cupcakes were not in her immediate future, and she firmly asserted her power over her own destiny: THERE WILL BE CUPCAKES OMG. She wiggled over to my other shoulder (the one nearest the kitchen) and leapt onto the counter, running like it's a prison break toward the cupcake pan. Ahhh... bliss... cupcakes. 

This morning I got myself a cupcake, forgetting her obsession. Oh, you'd think she'd not eaten in a year, she went in little circles of delight on my desk. I gave her a little nibble of a non-icinged cupcake. (Icing isn't good for parrots!) She dropped it immediately. CUPCAKES WITHOUT OMG STRAWBERRY ICING ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE! I gave her a small piece with a touch of icing... She ate the icing and is now looking at me quizzically: where's the rest?

She's not getting anymore. Too much sugar for cockatoo means mommy goes insane!

Love the Sophia story.. Sunday was CRAZY.. Everything went wrong.. including our internet connection was not working. The icing on the cake was that I dropped my cell phone into a bucket of water.. I have gary's old cell phone now turned on with my #.. So I have no phone # for you.. It was stored in my cell. ( can you email it to me?). I was not prepared at all to fly out Monday AM.. But... I'm in Boston now..MY FAMILY IS CRAZY! .. New York this weekend.. I'll be back in Boca Monday night.
