All floors, everywhere, including grass, concrete and carpet, are under the sovereign and exclusive dominion of One, Petey, a Goffins Cockatoo, of 123 Outtamy Way.

All non-human trespassers enter at their own risk and will probably be chased and bitten by the owner thereof should he notice an intrusion. Especially at risk are felines (any size) and unsuspecting African Greys. A small, white cockatoo named Sophia is exempt.

Any human trespassers intruding will be glared upon and telepathically informed of their afterlife status in hell by the owner, who will likely be hiding behind the orchids. Exempt from this classification is One, Mommy, who is allowed to come as long as she brings treats.

Poor Petey can't understand why the ground can't be exclusively HIS???? THE WHOLE FLOOR! EVERYWHERE!!! And poor Athie is learning to fly REALLY REALLY WELL now that he's chased if I can't intervene in time. He's used to waddling everywhere. Now he's so talented at flying he can turn through doors--although not at high speeds. (James is quite impressed!)

This morning while I was on the patio he chased all of the cats into the house and then marched around the patio floor like a little guard, clucking his pleasure over his vast space. Whenever a neighbor comes by, though, he scrambles up the orchid shelf to the top and hides behind the pots, peeking out, his little feathers covering his beak as if he's the most innocent little cockatoo in the world.

He likes when I'm on the patio with him. I always bring a pocket full of pine nuts and a few peanuts. If I'm rolling the ball with Sophia, I'll set a few nuts a couple feet away so that he'll run by and take them when he thinks I'm not looking. hehe...
