Dear Parrots,
As each of you know, you are exceptionally adorable and much loved by your parronts. Nevertheless, there is a life lesson each of you are sorely in need of learning. Specifically, biting is not nice.
Sophia, you are as adorable and sweet as you are sneaky and vindictive. Fingers are not food, and the fingers of friends are especially not to be nibbled. Stated more clearly: Do not bite friends. They are nice. They like you. You appear to be the most adorable angel and then, all the while gazing into their eyes in utter devotion, you jump and bite their hands. This is not acceptable behavior. If you want people to keep liking you, you must stop biting them.
Athie, people know not to touch you. As the neighbor child said, you look evil. That's not the problem. The problem is that you bite ME and I FEED YOU. There is an old saying. You should well consider it. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." This is especially true when I'm TRYING TO FEED YOU. STOP BITING ME WHEN I PUT YOUR FOOD DISH BACK IT HURTS!!! Did you WANT to starve??
Petey, I am sitting in the middle of the parrot room floor for one reason: you must learn to stop chasing your feathered friends. If you chase Soph and Ath, they won't want to play with you. And particularly, if you continue to chase Soph and Ath, I'm gonna get tired of eating my dinner picnic style on the parrot room floor and am going to leave your feathered little butt in your cage! Moreover, you are not the proud owner of three cages. You have one cage. The middle cage is not your evening getaway. Athie's cage is not an extension of your domain. You have the large white cage next to the door. Please stop chasing your sibs off of theirs.
Thx so much for your attention to this matter.

The "Atom" J and I made of tubing and sisal rope last weekend. It's about 36"x36"!
Petey's Pruning Service. Petey took out most of my 12-ft bougainvillea in one Saturday. (This was fine with me, I'd been trying myself and couldn't cut it back.) Then another day he took out all of my 10 foot rose bush. I told J I'd pruned it. He still sighs and tells me I'm not supposed to prune by twisting the branches off everytime we pass it. Last Saturday Petey took out another bougainvillea. He's fore hire--anyone need some pruning work??
A proud Petey sitting by his new, custom-made perch. ;)
The rosebush that was...
The bougainvillea used to reach the top of the screen, as full as you see on the remaining bottom bit. It was hilarious to watch him prune. He'd bite off a branch. If it didn't fall all the way to the ground right then he'd leap down to where it landed and, annoyed, toss it again, watching it fall. Then he'd climb back up and resume his pruning, watching with joy as each branch descended... and again "assisting" those that didn't go all the way. "FALL, DAMNIT!!!"
Surveying his hard work... "What a good job I did!"
Soph's new cage!
I still need to add some little shreddy toys here and there. She's got her big ones and such, but it looks so bare!
"I'm done playing, time to freshen up..."
All of the cages:
Petey's is on the far left--the white one. Soph's is in the middle. Ath's is on the right. Petey's up for the next big cage--the plan is to get one that's Soph's size for all three.
Finally, here are some Soph-flower pics. Nothing that great, but she's still cute. :)
