Idiots, Many Idiots

smile_n_cuddleThe other day James, after dealing with some very, very stupid people, said, "I've had my first glimpse of hell. Idiots, many idiots."
Boy do I know it. Today has been a "hell" day, if that's the case. Usually I like my clients quite a bit. Today...
One lady calls (four times) to let me know:
1) she will drop off her pay stubs today (call from last night)
2) she's on her way to drop them off now
3) she just dropped them off - have I received them yet?
4) (15 min later) she dropped them off, and now she needs me to photocopy them and mail them back to her.
The thing is, the drop box is RIGHT NEXT TO THE PHOTOCOPIER WHERE THE BIG SIGN SAYS "PHOTOCOPY ALL ORIGINALS HERE. GIVE THE COPY TO YOUR CASE MANAGER AND KEEP THE ORIGINALS."
She said, "The lady told me just to put them in the box. Now I need you to send them back to me because I have to take them to the social security office.
*sighs*
THEN
I have a client this morning who has to verify that his sanction has been lifted. I told him, "You can leave the copy of the verification up front in the box and I will get it. I would advise you not to ask for me or wait for me because I have many, many clients today (as I'm covering for a coworker as well), and it will be a long wait." He said, "Okay - I'll just leave it up front."
I just checked. He's sitting up front waiting to give it to me. I called the clerks and told them to inform him he can leave it in the drop box. She said, "We've already done that several times. He's hoping to catch you as you come out to get your next client."
*bangs head on desk*
Why is this so difficult???
