Some observations about James's birthday...

We met (and began dating) Sept. 15th, 2002 (dang, it was THAT long ago??). My birthday is Sept 18th. His is March 15th.

Do the math... he's exactly 2 years, six months, and three days older than me... and exactly six months away from our "dating" anniversary..

Well, to boggle your mind more, yesterday I was the exact same age he was when he met me, exactly 2.5 years ago to the day. :-)

I know, I'm a dork...

In more shallowness, I bought this new lipstick that was on sale and it's lasted all day very nicely. I think I'll wear it a lot!

Now, tonight I'm going to celebrate James's b-day with him... here's what I think I'm going to do.

1) take him to Splash's for dinner
2) take him to a bar with live music and dancing
3) go grab some ice cream for dessert...

The only problem is that I have to convince him to get a pair of shoes. He lost his nice dress shoes so all he has are sneakers and court-shoes.

In the alternative:

1) Splash's for dinner
2) Movie
3) ice cream

Now, I'm gonna have to convince the boy that he really DOES want to go out... and he's not going to want to do the dancing/bar thing, but if I GET him there, I know he'll LOVE it (and want to go again)...

But on the other hand, how easy is it for guys to shop for shoes? Also, should I force him to do something he will initially not want to do, but then wind up being glad he did on his birthday?

Ahh, I can tell I'm thinking like a lawyer already.

Thoughts?

I'm a pretty anal control freak, but I suppose you might not notice that from my LJ. (I have gone on a few rants that must make me seem crazy, though.) By the same token, I don't view you as someone who would make life difficult, so there you go.

I think I'm fairly logical, but I'm also pretty hot-tempered (as is my father) so such volatility goes against our logical abilities. It's a constant struggle. (heh)

Hehe - you sound Irish. Are you? :-)

Actually, I'm half German (fourth or fifth generation I think), a fourth Greek (second generation), and a fourth English mix (our ancestors came over on the Mayflower). There might be a tad of Irish in there, I suppose. My dad's side is all German and he's the one I get most of my personality traits from!
